4 /5 Laura Domic: Desi Favors is a beautiful addition to the Lehigh Valley’s growing Indian restaurant scene. The ambiance is inviting, the service is friendly, and the menu offers a wide range of tempting dishes that celebrate both North and South Indian flavors.
We ordered a generous spread to share between four people. The vegetable and meat samosas were packed with flavor, and the two sauces served alongside them were absolutely delicious. That said, the samosas were a bit overcooked—the outer corners of the dough were hard to bite through.
The Chicken 65, lamb curry, curried eggplant, and masala dosa were all well-prepared and spiced to perfection—these were definitely highlights of the meal.
On the downside, both the crispy fish and one of the chicken dishes were unfortunately very dry and tough to chew. It seems like the fried items are routinely overcooked, which takes away from their potential.
Despite some inconsistencies in the food, we really enjoyed our dining experience overall. The staff was attentive, and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. With a bit more attention to detail in the kitchen—especially for the fried dishes—Desi Favors has the potential to be a five-star destination.
We’ll definitely be back to see how it evolves!
