The Tavern on the Square - New Wilmington (PA)

5 /5 CTrain686 Zorn: First time weve eaten here. Great friendly service, nice atmosphere, unique food. The egg/sausage came with mild honey mustard and was very good. The mushroom pizza was a touch heavy on garlic, but easy to take off. Crust was very good. Sweet tea was quite tasty. Definitely would return again. Only negative was no hot chocolate on a cold day, and limited coke products (Pepsi fan). Could have enjoyed a root beer of some kind with the pizza.

5 /5 Shadi Mansour: What a vibe? We parked in the back and entered via the rear entrance. Pretty cool that there was an elevator in this old building. The hostess was super pleasant and welcoming. Great vibes all around from the atomosphere, the energy coming from the kitchen and the bar. We requested to sit outside and it couldnt have been more perfect for this time of the year. Our server Anna was fantastic and was spot on with all of her recommendations. The Pomegranite Paloma was perfect. They were out of the Brie, so we went with the Pickled Fried Green Tomatoes, fire. I dont even like tomatoes like that. Was gonna order the BLT, but Anna recommended the Nancy. Glad I listened. "Amish Chicken".....cage free, no hormones. The good stuff. The crisp, perfectly cooked. Do garlic parm on the fries too. Thanks for that tip, Anna. The best part of our meal wasnt the food or the atmosphere. It was watching the staff try to accommodate a family that was trying to stick out some confused bees that kept harrasing their kid. The staff went over and beyond for this family before they moved them to a table inside, per their request. Kuddos guys. All the love. Cant wait to come back. Grateful this place is in our backyard.

5 /5 Amy Creed: What an all around terrific restaurant! I think this restaurant checks all of the boxes. High end without being stuffy and ostentatious, unique food choices, table service was second to none, and food was 5 star. A bit pricey, but worth every penny! Indoor and outdoor patio seating in the heart of Amish Country. Beautifully renovated and under new ownership they have made this a destination worth stopping at! Cant wait to go back.

5 /5 Mark N: The Tavern on the Square was good in most every way that a restaurant can be good. From the first sip of cocktail through to the last bite of chocolate cake, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm, and the service was friendly and professional. In todays world, we all suffer so so many indignities and disappointments. Thank you to the owners and staff for putting that all aside, taking your work seriously, and making a wonderful evening for my wife and me.

5 /5 Kelsey Federer: Growing up going to The Tavern, I was excited to check it out with my husband for a date night and we were blown away! Makenzie, our waitress, was so welcoming and everything she recommended was absolutely amazing! We even got some Tavern Sticky Buns to go! We highly recommend everyone to check it out, I promise it will blow you away.
