5 /5 John Mann: This was our first time at Kevins bar & restaurant. The restaurant is not directly on Wyoming Avenue, but it is in the parking lot behind Fidelity bank. The parking lot was filled, and so was the restaurant. This was a great indication! The exterior has a red painted brick, polished-industrial vibe with two clear igloos for dining outdoors. The interior has a high ceiling with glossy, rose gold/salmon painted brick walls. It is very warm, cozy and charming. However, since it is a reimagined industrial complex with an expansive interior, it can be a bit difficult for quiet conversations. We were seated at a wooden table, set with linen napkins, silver settings, white porcelain dishes and a candle. There was an extensive list of craft cocktails, whiskeys, tequilas and liquors. The list was so extensive, the text was small and challenging to read. They also offered wine and beer. I ordered a Reisling. They brought out some freshly baked bread with a plate of salt, pepper and garlic seasoned oil to dip in. This was so delicious we ordered a second! I ordered the "all the onions" soup to start and the grilled octopus appetizer as my entree. The french onion soup was topped with melted cheese and was delicious! The octopus appetizer, was accompanied by grilled grape tomatoes, fingerling potatoes, halved green olives, and andouille sausage. I especially loved the perfectly seasoned grilled tomatoes! Our table ordered creme brulee for dessert and there was plenty to share. They had multiple dessert cocktails, ports and dessert wines to choose from. We loved our first experience and plan to return soon, with friends!
