1 /5 Arbab Naseebullah Kasi: A Disheartening Betrayal: Parx Casinos Disappointing Demise. My friends know how much I love this area. Im a proud local, always eager to show off the best of our community, and the Parx Casino has always been on that list. It was a place Id proudly take out-of-town guests, a landmark I’d encourage them to visit, always promising them a great time. This past visit, however, wasnt just bad it was a truly disheartening experience that I wont soon forget.
I brought a new friend here, someone I wanted to impress, someone who was hesitant but willing to trust me. The plan was simple: show him a good time, get him comfortable with the atmosphere, and maybe hed even try a game. But we walked into a casino that felt less like a lively destination and more like an abandoned museum. We stood at the blackjack tables, where three dealers were huddled together in their own world. They were so engrossed in their personal conversations about their lives and clothes that they didnt even acknowledge us. No greeting, no eye contact, nothing. They were just... there.
I tried to break through their bubble. I tried to ask about the games, how to get started, how to become a member, anything to get this friend of mine engaged. It was like talking to mannequins. They looked right through us, their backs turned, their voices loud enough to show they simply didnt care. It was a humiliating moment. I had hyped this place up so much, only to be met with total indifference. I couldnt even explain the rudeness to my friend, who simply assumed this was how casinos operated.
Ive been to many places, but I have never witnessed such a complete lack of professionalism. These "dealers" were just for show, a backdrop for their own private chatter. The casino would be better off with fake people or a digital assistant at least a machine would be programmed to engage.
But the nights disappointment didnt stop there. We went to the restaurant area around 8:30 PM, hoping for a redeeming moment. The staff seemed annoyed by our presence. We were served a pizza that was burned to a crisp and as hard as a rock. They dropped the food on the table and vanished, leaving us with a charred dinner we had no choice but to eat. We had to chase someone down for a single glass of water for two people, which felt more like a chore than a service. Then, as we ate, the cleaning staff began dragging chairs and tables, a screeching, disruptive noise that forced us to rush through our meal. It was so early not even midnight and we were made to feel like we were a nuisance.
This wasnt just a bad night out. It felt intentional. It felt like the management has deliberately hired people who dont want clients. Maybe this casino is just a front for something else, because they certainly arent in the business of hospitality. I went there to make a great memory and left with nothing but regret.
Im telling you now: dont go. Save yourself the disappointment. This isnt the Parx I once knew. Its a hollow shell of what it could be, run by people who couldnt care less about the experience they are supposed to provide.
