  • Optimal Sport 1315 - Gym - Philadelphia
Lexi smart: Of the three gyms I belong to Optimal is my favorite. For starters, I am light sensitive and hate big glass windows with glaring sunlight. so prevalent at other gyms. Optimal on Walnut is windowless and the vibe is really cozy. I take the Power Glutes and Silver Sneakers classes. The instructors are devoted to Optimal and its members and great at what they do. Ive been a member for two years and truly enjoy my time there.
Fire for Effect Athletics - Philadelphia
ravyn potts: Best place ever!!! Kind, but strong people. They make you feel like family and not like cult-ish and clique-ish like other work out places!!!! I moved 30 minutes away and I still try to make it here at least twice a week! Great location, ample parking, lots of time slots for classes! Oh AND BONUS!!!! Bonus bonus bonus…if your babysitter cancels last minute on you, you can bring your kid! And or bring your doggy!
    Planet Fitness - Philadelphia
andrew stahlgren: I use this gym due to the wide selection of machines @ a low cost but this might be the most backwards messaging I’ve ever seen.
    Rippedphl - Philadelphia
Vickie Rosone: Took Sarah’s class. She was amazing. A very challenging tough workout. 11 minute circuits between tone and tread. 11 minutes on the treadmill, 11 minutes at the bench/floor with weights and then 2 more alternating circuits. Dark room, good music and a very talented trainer telling each circuit what to do and when. Thanks for a great class!

Noah Suah: Over all I think the gym equipment needs to be upgraded. I’ve been to other locations with better equipment and cleaner. The front desk staff is quite unprofessional. The employee Nas comes to work without combing his hair. Most customers don’t want to hear staff taking about other members after they leave. That’s so unprofessional.
F45 Training Center City, Philadelphia - Philadelphia
Alice Lara: I absolutely love F45! The coaches are amazing—they guide you, motivate you, and help correct your form throughout the workouts. Vinny and Antonio have been my trainers since I joined a few months ago, and both have been really warm and supportive. The exercises are challenging but really enjoyable at the same time. My favorite part is the Hyrox strength training sessions—they’re intense, fun, and super rewarding. Whenever I’m not able to make it to class I really miss it! Super recommendable :)
    BAMN Fitness - Philadelphia
Matthew Lyons: This is still one of the best gyms I’ve ever been a part of. The equipment is great, the price is reasonable, the owner is so nice, and the community was awesome. I knew multiple people by name and always had pleasant convos. I moved out of the area 2 years ago and I have yet to befriend 1 person in the new gym I’ve been going to - it’s just not the same. To go back to the owner, Sonny, I had recently found that I was still getting charged for my membership even after cancelling. Naturally I was pretty frantic when I found out as I had not been going here for 2 years. I emailed and texted him explaining the situation not sure if he would even get back to me. He ended up emailing me back right away profusely apologizing and had me refunded within the next day. Seeing a business owner make an honest mistake and immediately make things right was very refreshing. I wish I could still goto this gym!
YardOut Fit Club Philly - Philadelphia
Antanette Wise: I have been going to Yardout just short of a year and I have enjoyed my experience. Ron is a knowledgeable trainer and he motivates and pushes me to be my best so that I can reach my fitness goals. More importantly, he ensures my technique and form are correct to avoid injury. I love the culture and atmosphere because everyone motivates and encourages each other during workouts. In fact, I’ve built many relationships since attending the gym. If you’re looking for a fitness club that caters to all levels, offers a supportive community, and prioritizes personalized training, I would recommend Yardout Fit Club to anyone trying to achieve their fitness goals!
    Orangetheory Fitness - Philadelphia
Nicole Hinterberger: My home studio. OTF has been a mainstay in my fitness routine since gyms reopened during COVID. I started there wearing masks and working out next to people with plastic barricades - and have stayed ever since. I needed a consistent group workout following Flywheel center city (and the company overall) going bankrupt during COVID. I worked and rode at flywheel as my go to fitness establishment for work, workouts, stress relief, and socialization for 7 years. Without it, I knew I needed an alternative. OTF is it! It’s a great workout. Every class is consistently challenging but doable. As a physical therapist, I like how many different facets of a person’s wellbeing OTF hits. They check every box - speed, strength, coordination, balance, stretching, mindfulness - and they do a great job offering form cues and alternatives like elliptical or bike instead of treadmill, walk instead of run, and different variations of floor exercise. I would never work as hard as I do on my own as I do in class with an instructor and others around me. Thanks for the push!! I recommend OTF to so many patients and friends. I’ve recruited my mom as a member and am working on getting my husband in for at least one class ☺️ I like that every class is different. The coaches are friendly and motivating. The studio is conveniently located. And the app is easy to use to track your stats and book classes.
    Barrys Philadelphia - Philadelphia
Chad Burger: I was in Philly with a group for a leadership conference and a few of us decided to sign up for a Barrys session. When we arrived at this Barrys location they told us the session would be free as many of us have not participated in a Barrys training before. I was unsure what to expect for the class, but was pleasantly surprised with how the class was organized and well-structured. For the workout, there was a floor group and a treadmill group. It was divided into two rounds of each (floor and treadmill) with the participants in the class alternating with each other. The room was dark with red lights and lively music to keep everyone going. Dylan instructed the class and did an excellent job explaining the exercises and kept the energy high throughout the workout. There is a smoothie bar at the front where you can get many different flavors to refuel after your workout. I will definitely sign up for another Barrys class and recommend it to anyone who is serious about keeping in shape. Thank you for the great workout and making it free for many of us for our first time.
