1 /5 Nc Cuello: Edit: Horrible handling of this situation from start to finish. I called repeatedly starting at 7 a.m. when the store opened and received no response. When I arrived in person and explained what happened, I was outright accused of lying. Loss prevention claimed that my “friend” took the items, which is completely false. A simple review of the cameras and the register scale would have clearly shown that the items were left behind after I paid.
When I asked to speak with a manager, I was flatly refused. Instead, I was redirected to another employee (Julie or Julia), which resolved nothing. At that point, I had no choice but to call the police, because the only conclusion left was that an employee had taken merchandise I had already paid for.
Only when the police arrived did the employees suddenly retreat to the back and attempt to “fix” the situation by offering a gift card and returning the items. By then, my time and money had already been wasted. I requested a refund, which they finally processed—likely only because an officer was present.
This level of unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and refusal to take accountability is unacceptable. Do better, Target. Especially considering I was prepared to spend nearly $200 in your store.
