5 /5 gary howell: My partner and I often go to Goodwills looking for Temp-Tation stoneware and Mason Jars. We have only been to Latrobe’s store couple times mainly because we have always had bad experiences. From rude employees and employees acting like it was an effort just to answer a question. However During our last experience, 2 employees made for a great shopping experience! There names are Kylie and Courtney! They both were hard working, never stopped unless helping answering questions. While we were there my partner and I had asked couple questions and even went back to get something while at the checkout counter and never once did they show frustration. In fact, their interaction was like we were friends for years. This made for an amazing experience which caused us to want to come back. Great Job Kylie and Courtney! 2 /5 Jeanine: I dont know what happened to this place. When they first opened, it was the most organized store with the kindest, brightest employees of any Goodwill in the area. On my most recent visit, however, the store was absolutely trashed with very little semblance of organization or care. Items piled hap hazardously on top of each other and nothing in sections by type of item. It looks like a genuine hoarder stocked this store. Several items were not marked with a price, and they had noone on staff who could give a price, so we werent allowed to buy those items. I remember back in the day when this would happen that the workers were competent enough to say, "Oh, this bag isnt marked. All of our other bags are marked between $1.50 to $2, so I will sell it to you for $1.75." Youd say thats a fair price and move along your merry way. Clearly Goodwill thinks its workers arent smart enough to make these simple decisions and now requires customers to come back on another day when some super secret special pricer-person in the back is available to price those items. This location also does not have the dressing rooms open for customers to freely use. Instead, they have a reception bell you have to ding to have someone unlock the door. One older lady stood there for five minutes waiting for help and gave up, put her clothes on the discard rack, and left. Noone else after her bothered to try on their clothes. Get ahold of yourself, Latrobe. No other Goodwill in the area is this bad, and most of them are far busier.

1 /5 Jordyn Keller: over half of the clothing didn’t have a tag on it. i checked multiple different racks and only a handful had tags. they won’t let you purchase without tags. unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience and the employees weren’t the nicest either.

1 /5 Rusty Muskie: I dont know what happened at this location but when it was first opened it was reasonable as goodwill goes but lately this store is crazy pricey. Never seen so many $30 plus tags on multiple items in a single goodwill, funny most of those items still sit after 50% off. Seems to be a trend with these stores under the Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies.

1 /5 Anna Schreckengost: When did this Goodwill become a boutique/antique shop? While visiting the area recently, I decided to stop by as I used to frequent this location over 10 years ago when I was a student at SVC. Back then, I often found great items at reasonable prices, and I was excited to see what treasures might await this time. What we encountered, however, was nothing short of shocking. It felt as though this Goodwill had completely lost touch with its mission as a thrift store, with prices that could rival boutique or even antique shop standards. Heres just a sampling of what we saw: - A clearly worn pair of used Coach women’s shoes priced at $30. - Men’s Adidas shorts with visible stains, marked at $20. - A heavily worn men’s Under Armour shirt, with the logo barely visible anymore, priced at $15. - A small, square tin featuring strawberries (about the size of a softball), priced at $4.99. - A broken Fisher-Price wooden toy, covered in grime with ripped stickers, inexplicably priced at $15. - Kitchenware items, including bowls and plates, priced between $20–$50. We walked through half the store in disbelief and left before we even made it the entire way through. Goodwill has traditionally been a place for affordable shopping and the excitement of finding hidden gems—not a place where customers are met with sticker shock and prices exceeding what youd pay for brand-new items at retailers like Target or Walmart.
