1 /5 Brendan McWilliams: I dont know that Ive ever donated goods to a less helpful or less friendly center.
I came around the drop off window in the back, where two staff ignored me.
I came in the front, where I was informed "we need to grab someone to see if anything you brought is worth having in the store." I have never, ever heard something like that about donations.
When the staff member came out front to check whether my donations were "worth it", he seemed impatient. Not so impatient that he actually helped unload any of it from my car, though.
I asked him before he wheeled his dolly back inside if they were interested in any other goods I had planned to donate. He said theyd consider it with what is best described as a sneer.
I donated a wooden table, some wall art, and some clothes. But Im afraid this will be the only time I do. Ive heard they do good in this community, but I dont plan to donate in the future. I would not recommend anyone else do so either.
