4 /5 Mary C: As a big fan of Sovana Bistro, I was excited to try The Pear—its sister restaurant—and while it didn’t quite live up to Sovana’s level, it was still a very enjoyable experience that made me want to come back and try more.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the honeydew and speck crostini appetizer. It hit every note—sweet, salty, chewy, crunchy—and the sauce brought it all together beautifully. I honestly could’ve eaten a whole meal of just those.
I had the burger, which was good but not especially memorable. The cheese sauce, pickles, onions, and lettuce worked fine, but the bun didn’t quite suit it. Still, it was juicy and flavorful. My husband’s chicken piccata, on the other hand, was excellent—perfectly cooked with bright, well-balanced flavors.
Dessert was the only real miss. I ordered the caramel budino, which just tasted like basic pudding with a few sweet nuts on top—nothing special. I’d love to see a little more variety or creativity on the dessert menu.
We sat outside on a beautiful day, which was lovely, though at certain times we had the sun directly on us and a fair bit of traffic noise. Even so, we enjoyed the overall vibe and look forward to returning.
