Movement Callowhill - Philadelphia
Movement Callowhill
Elena C: Honestly half of the reason I got my membership was to attend Caroline’s yoga class, she is AMAZING! love the climbing and the people are always friendly. Only knocking down one star because they need more - and experienced - route setters. Complex routes tend to be inaccessible for short climbers. The grading - at least in the top rope area - is very inconsistent so I just climb what seems fun. However, the climbing community is pretty inclusive and awesome and this location is easy to get to so I highly recommend!
Fight Club Philadelphia - Philadelphia
Jessica Storment: Coach Mike is amazing, so is the rest of his staff. If you want someone to hold you accountable while pushing you to your greatest potential, I highly recommend you come here. There’s an amazing sense of community and support. Great class energy! It’s also a fun way to get shredded and let out some aggression.
LA Fitness - Philadelphia
LA Fitness
Jeff Cullinan: Love the staff here but everything else is trash. Just tried to go at 5am when they open. The girl who normally opens at 5 am quit last week and management didn’t find anyone to cover so a bunch of members including myself and my fiancé were left standing out in the rain. The basketball court has had a bubble in the door for at least two years. The treadmills were broken for about 3 months to start this year. Whoever is in charge of upholding the quality standards for LA fitness needs to do their job. Update - 9.28.25 Walked into the men’s locker room / Bathroom / Sauna and it was DISGUSTING. See picture below.
Union Fitness - Pittsburgh
Ian Hunter: I won’t belabor the point about management moving the gym in a different direction, that is their choice. This gym used to have a strong community of lifters who trained for various iron sports. If you are looking for a place to power lift and you want to train alone for the most part you are fine. The equipment remains largely fine and better than most commercial gyms but in need of some more regular maintenance. However, the direction the gym seems to want to move into is more of a boutique/commercial gym that doesn’t cater towards athletes who like to train seriously. Instead its’ specialty bars, monos, etc will be unused. The machines that it does have are limited and hotel gym quality. Frankly this gym seems to be going through an identity crisis right now. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out in a year. Either way I won’t be there to see it as it has lost the community and attitude towards training that made it one of the better Pittsburgh gyms over the past 6-7 years.

Nathan Favereaux: Michael at the LA Fitness is the MAN! He was so helpful working with us for the guest passes. If you need help getting set up for a membership, he’s your guy! Great facility, clean, and tons of equipment!
Pittsburgh Training & Fitness Center - Pittsburgh
Caroline Murphy: best gym in Pittsburgh. I have tried sooo many gyms in pittsburgh and this is by far the only one I will go to and recommend. - always clean - great ( new/ clean) equipment I competitively powerlift and this is the ONLY place in pittsburgh I return to.
FITNESS 19 - Pittsburgh
Belén Ponce: This gym is in terrible condition and desperately needs maintenance and cleaning. Many of the machines are old, broken, or out of order for weeks at a time, which makes it hard to get a proper workout in. The few machines that do work are rarely cleaned or wiped down, leaving them sticky or sweaty from previous users. The overall cleanliness of the facility is poor — the floors and bathrooms are often dirty, and there is an unpleasant smell throughout the gym that makes it uncomfortable to stay for long. It feels like the place is not taken care of at all. I signed up expecting a space where I could focus on my health and fitness, but instead, I feel frustrated every time I go. This is not a comfortable or motivating environment, and I would not recommend Fitness 19 to anyone who is serious about their workouts.
Anytime Fitness Southside - Pittsburgh
Sean Bryant: Do not ever sign a contract with Anytime fitness. I stopped going there. I had a month-to-month contract got a new Debit card and a new gym membership with a different Gym not anytime fitness. Six months later I get a call from a debt collection agency. They’ve been negatively affecting my credit for two months and I had no idea. Then I had to pay $140 fee on top of that for a gym I wasn’t even using. People have other crap to worry about. Anytime fitness should get off their high horse. Your contracts are BS.
Fitness Factory - Pittsburgh
Fitness Factory
Samantha Rodriguez: The absolute best gym in Pittsburgh!! Visiting from Texas (10 yrs now) to attend bodybuilding shows. We always make a stop at Fitness Factory for a great solid workout. Each time we are welcomed by friendly staff and our good friend Sameer who always makes us feel like family. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great bodybuilding atmosphere with quality equipment and a clean sanitary environment.
The Gym Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh
Eric: Small, quiet place with lots of equipment & friendly people. I always enjoy my time here BUT their rates are right up there with the other big gyms even though there are no locker rooms or showers. Ive spent a few free trial days using this gym before deciding if I want a membership, and Ive been tossing the idea around in my head for a week now...not being able to get a shower & go about my day has been making it a toss-up for me. I guess if you live close by it wouldnt make too big a difference.
