You go through denials and end up financially strapped because you became disabled and cant work. I had to fight for my short term disability and long term disability.I Also had to hire a lawyer. It took more than a year to get my long term benefits. By that time we got the money that was owed to me We had suffered hardships. I got my social security disability before my long term disability.
