U F C W Federal Credit Union - Pittston Joseph McDevitt: I opened an account here a few months ago to start keeping some savings that I couldnt just access from my phone. First off, when you open an account here, they charge you for a debit card and then charge you monthly because you have that card. This is a way out of date practice. Secondly, I received a state refund check from NJ because that is where I work. The bank was reluctant to cash it and made me play 20 questions about why I would have a refund from NJ. Finally, they ultimately wouldnt cash the check or deposit in my account because the check had both mine and my wifes names on it and she was not with me at the time. I promptly closed my account. I urge anyone looking for a banking option to consider a better bank. In general, I prefer small businesses and institutions, but this antiquated credit Union with backwards policies is a disgrace to the community and frankly deserves to be destroyed by larger more reliable banking solutions.
