  • Planet Fitness - Pittsburgh
Stephanie Friedersdorff: This is an amazing Planet Fitness! Mind you - I go in the mornings so I havent experienced it at other times. The staff is always friendly, and they keep it clean. The manger/owner rolls up her sleeves and doesnt ask her staff to do something she wouldnt do herself. They are responsive to notices (water fountain leaking, machine is loose), and general questions about my membership. No one, ever, has been rude or taken any sort of tone with the customers. The morning crew of gym goers are always kind, and I have never had issues about sharing machines. That could also be because they are never enough of us to overwhelm the machines, either. I feel good coming to this location and I am happy to have it as my home location.
    3rd Ave Gym - Pittsburgh
Timothy J McVey: Just visited the place yesterday Great for keeping city kids out of trouble and off the streets in a tough environment building character teaching kids Health and Discipline.
    [solidcore] Strip District - Pittsburgh
Stephanie Marcus: I love Solidcore classes because they are intense and give huge results. I have used these workouts at postpartum recovery after each of my 3 children and also as a general fitness. The range in intensity is also great because the same class can be modified for any level. Great workout!
    Panthro Fitness - Pittsburgh
Silvia Román: Whether you are a longtime athlete or an absolute beginner, this is the place for you! I have never been very athletic and have always felt uncomfortable and awkward at gyms, but Panthro has been such a great place for me to get started. Chris is the best! He makes bootcamp fun (but dont tell him because he will work you even harder lol). I love the community that he and all the trainers have built. Everyone is so nice and encouraging! I actually look forward to bootcamp - and I never thought Id say that!
    Thelma Lovette YMCA - Pittsburgh
    Thelma Lovette YMCA
Zeila Hobson: Staff is great and the pool is great, when it’s open. I tried to go twice during regularly scheduled hours this week on Wednesday and Friday and the pool was closed. I found out it was closed on Wednesday thanks to a sign on the front door. On Friday, I found out it was closed after getting dressed to swim and discovering a white board by the pool entrance saying it closed at 12PM. I have a membership to use the pool and pay a good amount for that, so it’s frustrating to be turned away twice in one week. A text chain or email notification about pool closures would be great so members don’t find out upon arrival to the facility that they can’t use the amenities.
    Volofit Ross Township - Pittsburgh
Kim Canfield: This is a super clean gym with super friendly staff. The classes are challenging and modifiable for those who need more or less of a challenge. There’s showers, lockers, protein shakes and energy drinks for purchase, as well occasional group outings and activities like trivia and pool parties. I recommend Volofit, especially because it’s more affordable than other similar gyms like Orange Theory or BURN.
    Club Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh
Kim Kroll: Not a safe space. They don’t respond to phone calls or emails if you have questions. We literally booked an entire vacation to Pittsburgh based on the fact that they allow women in. Tried to verify. No response. Just another space that’s made for men. I’m just so tired of misogyny in queer “safe” places.
    Fitness With A Twist 2.0 - Pittsburgh
Kelly Corrigan: Ive been attending a little over a year and its been an amazing journey! All the instructors are really great to work with, and all the members are very welcoming and encouraging. You dont need to have any experience or be super fit or anything to start. Theres all sorts of offerings depending on what youre looking for, as well as theme events pretty frequently. I started with the newbie 4 pack and its a great deal for dipping your toes in! Its a bright spot in my week every time I go. ❤️
